A Picture From Juneau

Picture of the day
Jock Murphy

In May 2010 I had the opportunity to go on a week long cruise to Alaska. The trip left from Seattle, WA and took us to the cities of Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, and through Glacier Bay.

As an avid photographer there was no way that I would leave the camera at home, and ended up with something along the lines of seven thousand pictures, and whittled them down to a set that I felt told the story of our trip and celebrated the wonders of the 49th state.

You can find the full collection of pictures here, but that can be far too much to digest in one sitting. So I decided to create this site to give you one picture a day from that wonderful trip, presented in no particular order.

For the curious, the vast majority of the pictures were taken with my Canon 50D, and shot with either a Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro, or a Canon EF 28-135mm Image Stablized lens. A handful were taken with my iPhone 3GS. I bet you can tell which they were...
